This is not a drill, you can now get six of our flavours at your local Woolworths...and three ice cream cakes!
The range features six delicious new pints inspired by our best-selling in-store flavours:
Super Vanilla - Vanilla Gelato with Vanilla Fudge - made using their own vanilla fudge with Heilala vanilla
Dulce de Leche - Dulce De Leche Gelato - made using Messina-made dulce de leche
Pistachio Praline - Fior Di Latte Gelato with their own house-made Pistachio Fudge & Pistachio Praline
Hazelnut Praline - Light chocolate Gelato with their own house-made Hazelnut praline and fudge made with hazelnuts from the Messina farm
Robert Brownie Jr. - Chocolate Gelato with Milk Choc Fudge & Choc Brownie
Tiramisu - Tiramisu Gelato with Coffee Syrup
Meanwhile, their cakes will be shaking up the frozen cake sector, with three delectable flavours:
Tiramisu - A tiramisu Bavarian cake with layers of coffee-soaked sponge dusted in cocoa powder
Iced Coco - A coconut & raspberry Bavarian cake with raspberry gel and desiccated coconut on a coconut biscuit base
Choc Malt - A chocolate malt Bavarian cake with malt fudge, malt chantilly and shaved dark chocolate on a chocolate biscuit base
By working closely with Woolworths, they have developed a range that maintains the honest quality and delicious Messina magic, all while being enjoyed from the comfort of one’s own freezer—no matter where they are.
To launch the new range, they have collaborated with New York-based Australian artist and long-standing friend Jeremyville to create the packaging for the new range. Jeremy developed a series of characters depicting each new flavour, paired with an updated splash of their iconic wallpaper print.
Jeremy was one of Messina’s first customers when they had just one store in Darlinghurst over 20 years ago, and long-term fans will be familiar with Jeremy’s streetscapes that adorn many of their earlier store walls. It felt only natural to bring him along on this journey as they expand and bring Gelato Messina to people's freezers!
Tubs will be $14.50 each and cakes $30.00 each, but everyone knows supermarkets love a good 'special', so they should look out for those too!
